Founder of Octivis · AI Researcher & Builder
Computer vision, robotics, augmented reality, and private AI systems.

I'm Areeb Khan, a Computer Science graduate. I got here through three years in a machine-learning lab, a lot of time building robots, and leadership roles that taught me how to make decisions when the path was not obvious.
This summer, I researched AI policy for sustainable development with the Archer Center in Washington, D.C., and built private AI systems at the Embassy of Pakistan. I am also a qualitative coder on a Sentinal Research & Policy Institute study about detecting AI hallucinations. Now, I'm building Octivis, a loss-prevention platform for retail stores.

What I'm building right now
Octivis is the AI perception layer for physical retail. It connects the POS, accounting software, supplier records, and payment data stores already use to find the losses draining their margins. Stores only pay from what Octivis recovers.

Books + invoices → recoverable loss
POS and transaction signals reveal card anomalies, missed payments, and register exceptions that would otherwise stay buried.
POS + payments → clear exceptions
Octivis checks fuel loads against rack benchmarks, contract terms, billed gallons, taxes, and freight to surface discrepancies worth recovering.

Embassy of Pakistan · Washington, DC
Building private AI tools for confidential workflows, with access control, encryption, and auditability built in from the start.
UT System Archer Fellowship · Washington, DC
Studying the infrastructure and policy behind AI at scale—and learning how technical decisions become public policy.
Student Governance · UT Arlington
Supervising activities planned by Student Government and the Graduate Student Council while mentoring student leaders.
UT Arlington · Machine Learning Lab
Three years working on object detection, tracking, robot locomotion, and real-time perception. This is where the technical foundation for Octivis began.
